When it’s about buying an outdoor fireplace for your outdoor living area or your backyard, the one thing you should always put first is safety. While most designs have been tried and tested to be considered safe, there are still others which are not and some are still safer than the others. Presently the most popular outdoor fireplace designs you can find are the chimineas and the outdoor fireplace pits. While these top two designs provide a warm and cozy ambiance, there are costs and benefits associated with each of them.

Chimineas doesn’t produce a lot of smoke or heat as much as the fireplace pits. This is because it is similar to your indoor fireplace which has an opening which cleanly burns fuel. On the other hand, fireplace pits are open fireplaces which can be compared to a ring of heated rocks. And while they sometimes have chimneys, they have a wide opening which can make it harder to control the heat and fire.
