I'm online a lot as a web developer. I develop e-commerce sites that help my customers sell anything from velcro to cushion covers to canvas art prints.
When I'm not developing, my favorite website for the work and money side of my life is CNBC's website. It is a perfect compliment to CNBC television. One of the things I like about it is the way it is designed and laid out. Once you get used to it, you know exactly where to go to get the information you are seeking. Personally, in conjunction with my stock market investing and trading, I review their website several times a day. At the top are the major headlines of the day. This is where I go to find out what is wrong if the market suddenly plunges. I can usually find an answer there. There are also boxes that feature each of the main trading and investing related television shows they have on during the day and evening. If you happen to miss one of these shows, the boxes will give you a chance to see the primary topics they discussed and read articles recapping those issues. Along the top are drop down menus that will take you to specific items that may be important for your trading and investing. I am constantly checking commodity, currency, and futures quotes. This is especially true after-hours and throughout the night and early morning. Sometimes there is not much you can do but hold on for the next day, but at least you are not in the dark with the CNBC website.
