Blue and Green: My Shoes Have Got Me Everything

The best pair of shoes that I own, I've had for years now. They have been with me through everything. When I first got my blue and green polka dot Vans, it was love at first site. I slipped them on and it was over, I was never going to wear another pair of shoes again.
Don't get me wrong - I love all kinds of shoes, as my wardrobe will testify too - from gladiator sandals to high heels.
However, those Vans really got my attention. All through high school I wore them. It was during that time that I began to write on them. Then my friends drew some birds on the tops. My senior year was when the shoes received the holes on the tops from where my big toe had pushed through. Over time the holes became larger and during the rain the shoes caused my feet to get soaked. Just recently the received some top notch burns thanks to the sun and a pair of glasses. Thought the fabric is ripping and the soles have been very worn down, I’ll be hard pressed to find another pair of shoes as great as my Vans.
